Graduating College Pt. 1

When writing one of these sentimental posts does anyone really know where to start? I sure don't.

Let's go all the way back to the beginning...

Fall 2011/Spring 2012

I don't remember the complete details, but I do remember I had a rough first week, month, semester. I feel like a lot of freshmen do. If you know me, I am a fighter. Things may try to tear me down, but I fight to stay standing. Freshman year was the biggest fight I had. I changed friends faster than Usain Bolt. I faced challenges that seemed to big for life.

I went through some of the biggest losses in my life that year. Two of the most kind-hearted people left this earth to be with God. One by choice the other by accident, both by surprise.

I switch my major. No one, not even me saw this coming. My entire life, and I mean ENTIRE life, I wanted to be a dental hygienist. To be honest, part of me still does. I switched to Advertising/Integrated Marketing Communications. To this day it was one of the best decisions of my life. Also, one of the most challenging.

I met a friend who, even though we don't talk anymore, I still am grateful to have met. She is still one of the biggest influences in my life.

I challenged myself to open up a little bit more. I taught myself that life isn't going to be fun living closed off.

My aunt told me something I will never forget. "Never forget who you are and where you come from."

I learned that it's okay to make a fool out of yourself. At least you are making people laugh, and laughter is the best. Also, not to get embarrassed about so much.

On to my list of thanks...

Thank you to my first roommate who taught me that if I don't like the situation I am in, I need to change it.

Thank you to my second roommate who taught me that bullies will be bullies and you have to stand up to them. Stand your ground. Fight, but don't fight back. There is no need to sink to their level.

Thank you to the many friends who made the first year all possible.
Anna, Taylor, Sammie, Jon, Travis, Alex, Byron, Mike, Garrett, Jenny, and many more.

Thank you Amanda K. and Kayla W., for helping me make it through Micro Bio even though I was leaving the science program.

Thank you Tom Mehl, for helping me transition into the AIMC program. You helped me then and still continue to do so.

Thank you to my cousin Eric for making the trip to Copper Harbor over Christmas break, who knew that that trip would start a 5 year tradition.

Writing this post has flooded my mind with memories...

The night Garrett called me at 2-3 am because he had just hit a deer and didn't know what to do. I also hung up on him the first time, because you don't wake me up from a slumber. I'm glad I did eventually pick up.

The day my grandparents drove to Big Rapids just to bring me medicine.

Going for drives with Stopher and Sammie and 2 am.

My freshmen year was full of ups and downs. I do not regret a single moment of it.

I Found My Place In The World

I want to take a moment and talk about what I experienced last night.

Have you ever had one of those moments where you finally realize that from some reason you know you were suppose to be there? Or how you never know what kind of impression you are making on a person.

Last night, I had the opportunity to sit down and have dinner with a group of women that I barely knew and I have only met two of them in person for less than an hour. As the conversation went on, I began to think to myself, even though I was the youngest person in the group, I felt as if I was meant to be there. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was for my consulting business. I just had this gut feeling that I was following my plan, my meaning in life. I look back on this and even though I didn't say or do a whole lot I was glad that I went.

I do not think I could have wished for a better night with a better group of women.

These ladies are an inspiration to me. They show me that through hard work and dedication you can achieve anything you want to. YOU just have to believe it within yourself. This meeting brought motivation to me, not only for my business, but for my school work and my life. Also to know that if I have trouble with anything in life that someone out there is willing to help me.

If you make an impact on one person or hundred its the impact that matters and not the amount of impacts right?

I went to this meeting with an open mind, not knowing what would happen, and this was the outcome. If I could only do this everything else that I have going on in my life I believe that things would start looking up for me. For that one night, and hopefully more in the future, I actually felt like I belonged somewhere and that what I did/do matters.

I may not have a striving business, but you have to take everything one step at a time. Do not rush things, perfection takes a while

So thanks, Team Galloway, for making last night such a meaningful night. Thank you for making me feel like I belonged.

I don't have to be me till Monday!

I all! If you all haven't noticed I haven't been myself lately. Well if you haven't let me tell you.. I have been myself. For this I do apologize.

What has caused all this madness. Well where do I start?
Well let me give you the biggest one..

This summer has been the second worst summer of my existence. What makes you say that? Why is it the second worst summer?
Well I came into this summer thinking.. yes, just finished my first year of college and I survived even if barely. This is going to be a good summer and I can't wait to get my summer bucket list going. Well no that didn't even happen. NONE of it happened. Why is it that second worst? Well the worst summer of my existence is when my parents decided to move up into the UP of Michigan. A from all friends and family. I moved into an unknown land with people I didn't know. Not very good for a shy girl.

I have not seen a single friend of mine this summer.
I have tried to get in contact with some of my friends and not a single one of them wanted to anything with me EVER! I started to think well it must be me, ITS GOT TO BE ME! And I still don't know the answer to that, if it is me or what. :(

There is definitely others, but I am not myself to explain them all to you. What am I going to do to fix this?
Well tomorrow my computer goes off to the laptop hospital to get fixed. :( So for 7-10 business days I will not have my laptop which means I will not be posting any blog post. Again I apologize. SORRY! I hope being away from social media and my laptop I will find myself again.

As for my giveaway that is still going on, don't be shy and still try to win!!! :D I will still get in contact with the winner and let you all know who won! :D I will not let you all down.

As for everyone that I am sponsoring with I will be in contact with you soon, because I need to get something from you. :D

I hope everyone has a great week! :D See you soon! :D
Keep in touch!

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
I love fall hikes! I love walking on trails and hearing that crunching sound of the freshly fallen leaves. Then coming back and having a cup of hot tea (or apple cider which ever you prefer). I love looking at all of the carved pumpkins that decorate the houses.

 2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?
I am a Michigander so I am a Detroit Lions fan. I know I know.. they aren't the greatest, but I am a loyal fan and I will stick with them no matter what!

3. What is something fun about Fall in your area?
Fall means the weather will start cooling down and I can start wearing sweat pants and hoodies. I live in the dorms in the fall so I practically LIVE in sweatpants during the fall.

FALL COLORS!

4. Favorite Fall Outfit Staples?
Okay so this is weird and it's not really something out of the ordinary, but SOCKS. I love socks. :) I have a drawer FULL of them. :) In the summer I hardly ever wear socks (except to work) so when fall comes I can fit my little toes-ys into socks! :D

5. Thing you are looking forward to the most this Fall season?
Football! :) I love sitting in front in front of a TV watching the pro games with all my friends or going to a college game and sitting outside under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate! Ooh I can just taste it now!

6. Favorite Fall Holiday? Traditions?
Thanksgiving! :) I just love getting together with my family and eat food. I am a big family person so anytime I get together with my family is a good time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Turkey dinners!!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL AND FALL!

I want to give you all an update on my friend Grace! She is finally awake from her coma and is moved from the ICU and into normal hospital room. :) She is so strong and keeps pushing forward! Doctors say that it's all good news from here on out!

100 Strong and Grace update

Woo Hoo!!

I've hit 100 followers!

This makes me VERY happy!
Thanks to all of you read my blog!
I have a giveaway planned starting Monday for all of you WONDERFUL followers! I am having a busy weekend with work and Grace and everything else in between so I am very sorry to say that it will have to wait until Monday. Please stay tuned in for that though! I am very excited to have my very first giveaway on my blog! :D

Thanks to all of you who said, and to those who just did without saying, they would pray and be thinking about my friend Grace! :)
She is doing very well! They actually took her off of the medication for the coma this morning and she came out of it well. She is able to open her eyes and look around. She can give thumbs up on her right had side 75% of the time and 25% of the time on her left (lower on her left because that's where her clavicle is broken so its probably painful. Last I knew she was given pain medication at one o'clock this afternoon and so far she hasn't needed any more. SHE IS ONE TOUGH LADY! Doctors say she might be able to leave sooner than they had expected. :)

THANK YOU ALL!

Well sorry to cut it short but I only had a little while to do a post, but I wanted to share the news about Grace and my giveaway! :D

Leaving you with a picture of my Ellie.
Yes that is her.. underneath a couch. Silly silly girl.

Pinterest Pickings and Thanks!

As I sit here on my parent's deck I can't help think about all the people I have met in the past 3 months. Who I wouldn't have met if I didn't start this blog. Where I wouldn't be if I never wanted to tell my story. So to all you readers, to all of you bloggers and just to every one I thank you and also I am so very happy to have met you here in this great community of bloggers!

I LOVE reading your stories of motherhood, the little things that make your day, the things that don't make your day and everyday life! You all inspire me to keep going. To keep doing what I am doing no matter what anyone says (and have they said a lot!)! So to each and every one of you I say thank you from the bottom of my heart and if I could each and every one of you would be hugged. (I just like to hug)
